BIA - Operator Information Requirements

BIM Glossary

BIA - Operator Information Requirements

The operator information requirement (BIA) describes the operator's requirements for the structure of the data and the level of detail. It comes from ISO 19650 and, regardless of the project, forms the basis for the client information requirements (AIA) , which in turn are project-dependent and form the basis for the BIM implementation plan (BAP).

In order to ensure targeted implementation in the planning and execution phases, it is helpful to define these operational requirements at an early stage. At the end of each of these phases, the required data must be handed over to the company. This includes not only the geometric but also the alphanumeric information of the BIM models.
