01 - BIM GAME

BIM GAME

The BIM Game is the final part of the BIM Trainer. In the BIM Game, all the aspects of the digital planning method that have been learned are put into practice. And not just autodidactically, as before. The BIM Game is about testing and applying what you have learned in a project team and experiencing BIM live. You will be given a design task that has been precisely specified with regard to the required digital deliverables, taking into account a client information requirement (AIA). The workshop is characterized by a very limited processing time, the distribution of roles within your group and a direct competitive situation to which you will be exposed, as you will have to assert your performance against competing teams.

Each team member assumes specific responsibilities that correspond to roles in real construction projects — from architecture to structural planning to BIM coordination. This distribution of roles is crucial for a successful digital planning process and at the same time promotes interdisciplinary cooperation. Not only will you need to demonstrate your technical expertise, but also your ability to work as a team and communicate.

At the heart of the BIM game is the dynamic simulation of a planning process, in which you have to react to changes in real time and develop solutions. This challenge requires quick thinking and efficient action, as the results are assessed by a jury at the end of the event. The evaluation criteria include not only compliance with technical requirements and the quality of digital delivery items, but also the innovative strength and economic efficiency of the design concepts.

The BIM Game gives you intensive, practical experience that prepares you for future challenges in the digital construction industry. It is an opportunity to apply and develop the skills you have learned in a controlled but challenging environment, which can give you a decisive advantage in your professional life.

In contrast to the other parts of the BIM Trainer, the BIM Game is therefore a workshop and requires appropriate infrastructure and preparation.

Contact the teachers from the CHARGING project to find out how to participate and the dates of the next BIM Game.
